Back to work? Not fully

The official work summer holidays are over and typically the weather is now a scorcher.  I have my children for the next fortnight and so I won't be able to return to anything like normal work for a while yet, in fact until they get back to school in early Feb.

I find this time of the year a little weird if I'm honest as I don;t quite feel I should be on holiday and I can't actually just carry on working.  Ever tried to work when your children are in the house and on holiday, good luck with that.  Not that it is their fault and actually I probably could do a little but you simply either get interrupted, or expect to get interrupted, far too often to ever really get on a roll.  Thankfully I haven't got anything major or urgent on the go at the moment.

It does provide a unique feeling though.  This summer was going to be a bit different as well so that probably doesn't help things along but I will get there.  We are taking off to the beach (Oakura, near New Pymouth) for a few days next week so that should be fun.  Quite a rough beach but it does have surf life saving and  my children aren't the sort to go wandering into trouble, a little too sensible for that.

I have borrowed my computer so I could carry on using nVivo and that has been good as I have managed to recode all my data and it is starting to take some sort of shape.  I will spend the next couple of weeks planning what 2013 has in store and I have discovered recently that I really enjoy writing, and not thesis writing either, and have a couple of plans there that look fun.
